Food Safety & Allergens

All Sellers on Fish Meat & More are required to be registered with their local authority's environmental health team and to comply with the Food Safety Act 1990, the General Food Regulations 2004 and Food Information Regulations 2014.

Cold chain

  • Fresh fish, meat and poultry are transported in refrigerated vehicles or insulated packaging with ice packs.
  • On delivery, refrigerate at or below 5°C immediately and use within the use-by date shown on the label.
  • If the product temperature on arrival appears unsafe, refuse the delivery and contact us within 1 hour.

Allergens (14 regulated allergens)

Allergen information is provided on each product page where supplied by the Seller. The 14 regulated allergens include fish, crustaceans, molluscs, milk, eggs, soya, gluten, peanuts, tree nuts, sesame, celery, mustard, sulphur dioxide and lupin. Customers with allergies must check labels on receipt and contact the Seller if in doubt.

Raw products

Many products are sold raw. Cook thoroughly to a safe internal temperature (poultry ≥75°C, minced meat ≥70°C, fish until opaque and flaking). Do not consume raw or undercooked fish, shellfish, eggs or meat if you are pregnant, elderly, immunocompromised or under 5.
